Knut Oluf Reistad

Knut Oluf Reistad, 89, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026, at Suwannee Valley Nursing Center.

Knut was born in Oslo, Norway. At the age of 22, he came to the United States in 1960 to study engineering at the University of Texas. He spent most of his career as an aerospace engineer with Sperry Flight Systems and Lockheed Martin. Knut enjoyed his work and had a natural talent for making and building things.

After retirement, Knut continued to enjoy his love of building and creating, specially making model boats. He also enjoyed snow skiing, ski racing, and hiking in the mountains of the western United States.

Knut married his beloved wife, Estelle, in 1984, and they shared more than 40 years together.

He is survived by his wife, Estelle Reistad; sons, Robert Reistad and Richard Reistad; stepson, Milton Bevis; brother, Helge Reistad; sister, Ingeborg Reistad; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Karoline and Kristian Reistad.

A memorial service for Knut Oluf Reistad will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Jasper, Florida.
