Lawana Wetherington Ritzmann, 91, of Lake City, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on December 3, 2024. Born on April 28, 1933, to Perman Odis and Lorena Royals Wetherington in Jasper, FL, Lawana lived a life filled with love, joy, and cherished memories.

A retired Medical Assistant, Lawana dedicated her career to helping others. Outside of work, she found happiness in simple pleasures, including playing cards—especially Bridge—shopping, and savoring her favorite treat, ice cream. Her warm smile and vibrant spirit touched everyone she met.

Lawana is survived by her son, William Henry Ritzmann, III (Maria) of Altamonte Springs, FL; her daughter, Lorena Ritzmann Regan (Larry) of Lake City, FL; her brother, Curtis Wetherington (Linda) of Jennings, FL; and her sisters, Laverne Lee of Lake City, FL, and Linda Erixton (Bob) of White Springs, FL. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Alexander Ritzmann and Erika Ritzmann Davies, and Ryan Regan; one great-grandchild; many beloved nieces and nephews; and numerous extended family members.

Lawana was preceded in death by her devoted husband and best friend, LCDR William H. ("Speed") Ritzmann, Jr., USNR (Ret), of Lake City, FL, with whom she shared a beautiful and adventurous life, living and traveling all across this great country.

Lawana will be honored at a memorial service on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 207 2nd St NE, Jasper. A visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will immediately follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper.
