Lawrence Burton Tyre "L.B.", age 80, of Live Oak, FL. passed away at Shands Hospital in Live Oak on December 16, 2019.

L.B. was a native and former resident of Hamilton County before moving to Live Oak. He was born on November 27, 1939 to the late Burton and Gladys Brantley Tyre. It was in Jasper that he met a young woman by the name of Delores O'Cain and knew she would be "The One." The one he would marry and the one that would be his wife for the next 59 years. L.B. was the owner and operator of Tyre's Motorcycle and Chainsaw Service on 5th Street in Live Oak. Delores maintained the books for the business and in its heyday, in addition to Live Oak, he had stations of operation in Jasper, Madison and Lake City. L.B. was a motorcycle enthusiast and found that it was a real ministry to reach out and entertain young girls and boys with good clean fun and help keep them out of trouble. He and Delores would load the Winnebago with one motorcycle on the front, one on the back and a trailer loaded with twelve more and would set out with their children and a group of kids and off they would go to the trails to ride and camp. His children fondly remember him delivering motorcycles on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning making an extra special holiday for some young kid and working on lawn mowers when it might be taking up valuable family time but he was dedicated to the business and appreciated those that were faithful to him. He and Delores attended Melody Christian Church as long as their health permitted. L.B. was preceded by his parents Burton and Gladys, his daughter, Joan and his brother, Howard Tyre.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Delores Tyre; his son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Penelope Tyre of Live Oak; his daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Todd Palmatier of West Palm Beach, FL.; two brothers, Don Tyre (Marleen) of Marianna and Larry Tyre of Live Oak, FL.; two sisters, Eunice Waldrop of Eustis, FL. and Louise Tyre (Louis) of Homestead, FL.; his sister-in-law, Betty Ann Tyre of Jasper, FL.; eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

Memorial services were held on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Melody Christian Church in Live Oak, FL. with Pastor Frank Davis officiating.
