Leonard Ivey Harris, Jr. "Lanny", age 63, of White Springs, FL. passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Suwannee Health and Rehabilitation Center in Live Oak, FL. following an extended illness. Lanny was born in Lake City, FL. on October 5, 1951. He was a longtime resident of Yulee, FL. and worked for many years in the engineering department of Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation. Lanny loved to hunt, fish and be outdoors. Lanny loved his family and his church. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as long as his health permitted.
Survivors include two sons, Leonard Ivey Harris, III (Tina) and Joshua Cord Harris, all of Yulee; step-children, John Phillips (Emma) and Lee Phillips; his parents, Ivey and Mary Fouraker Harris of White Springs, FL.; two brothers, J.D. Harris (Xenia) and Jesse Harris (Lisa), White Springs, FL.; two sisters, Mary Wheeler (C.A.), White Springs, FL. and Teresa Smith (Phillip), Ochlocknee, GA.; two grandchildren, Jessica and Levi Harris.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home with Bishop Frank Allen officiating. Interment followed at Harris Cemetery near White Springs, FL.
