Lillie Nell Caruthers, age 63, of Live Oak, FL. passed away Monday, August 7, 2017 at North Florida Regional Hospital in Gainesville, FL.

Funeral services were held  Friday, August 11, 2017 at Live Oak Christian Church. Interment followed at Caruthers Cemetery near Live Oak.


Lillie Nell was born on December 17, 1953 in Live Oak, Florida to Arthur Paul and Sarah Emily Conine. She married the love of her life Jesse Caruthers and they made their home in Suwannee County. Nell was a dedicated wife and mother. She loved flowers, gardening and taking care of her fur babies. Nell had horses around her all of her life and after the children married and moved away, she came to depend on her three puppies to keep her company. Nell was preceded in death by her parents and brothers and sisters, Arthur Conine, Jr., Wayne Conine, Patricia McIntosh, Billy Conine, Margaret Conine and Sarah Conine.

Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Jesse Caruthers; two daughters, Jackie Roberts (Jeff) and Misti Smith (Nigel) all of Live Oak, FL.; two brothers, James Conine, Lake City, FL. and Ronald Conine, Cross City, FL.; six grandchildren, Jessica Johnson (Reese), Jordan Roberts, Jaylin Roberts, Lillie Megan Futch, Sarah Futch and Matthew Futch; one great grandson, Maverick Johnson and two great grandchildren "on the way", Stella and Royce Quiterio.
