IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda Ann
Cameron Law
December 8, 1940 – July 16, 2024
Linda Law, a cherished member of the community and devoted educator, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2024, at the age of 83. Born on December 8, 1940, in Rock Hill, SC, she was the beloved daughter of Roy and Anna Cameron.
Linda dedicated 32 1/2 years to teaching, starting her career in Statenville, GA, and spending the majority of her years in Hamilton County, primarily with Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten students. Teaching was her true passion. She played with her students on the playground, engaged with them on the floor to further their thinking and understanding, and provided countless experiences to foster their growth and sense of community. To Linda, her students were like her own children.
Linda was a lifelong member of the Jennings Community Church (formerly Jennings United Methodist Church) in Jennings, FL, where she cherished the memories and relationships she built while serving her community and her God. She was also an active member of the teacher's society, Alpha Delta Kappa, the 728 Elks Lodge, the Quilt Club at Redland Church, and the Ole Spokes Motorcycle Club. She even sported her leathers and boots.
Linda kept the roads hot and never slowed down. An avid traveler, Linda visited all but four of our 50 great states and numerous countries, enjoying many cruises. Her favorite destination was the mountains, especially Hendersonville, NC, where she met her cousins twice a year for good food, heartfelt laughs, and the most divine ice cream from Miss Piggy's. Linda never met a stranger; she loved getting to know people, learning from them, encouraging them, and making memories together.
Linda loved life and she loved to live it. However, the greatest love was her family. She is survived by her adoring daughters, Terri Perkins (Tony) of Lake Park, GA, and Karen Prine (Robert) of Jennings, FL; her loving sister, Leslie McCauley of Summerville, SC; her devoted grandchildren: Brittany Habener (Chris) of Lake Park, GA, Jerry McCoy of Lake Park, GA, Elizabeth Prine of Jennings, FL, and Cameron Prine of Jennings, FL; her precious great-grandchildren, Annalyn Habener and Cheyenne Habener; her close friend and companion, Raymond Vickery of Valdosta, GA; and many nieces and nephews. Linda is preceded in death by her dear daughter, Amy Law, her parents, Roy and Anna Cameron, the father of her children, Sherrill Law, and her friend and companion, Vonnie Prine.
A memorial service to honor Linda's life will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 11:30 a.m., at Jennings Community Church in Jennings, FL, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Linda will eventually rest at the foot of her mother in Sasser's Landing Cemetery in Jennings, FL. Linda's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
