Lois Bennett Curry, age 98, of Largo, FL. passed away Saturday, May 21, 2011 following an illness of some time. Lois was born on March 19, 1913 in Jennings, FL. to the late James J. and Mamie Lou Hill Bennett. Lois worked as a cashier and bookkeeper at the theater, part time at City Hall and even worked briefly as a mail carrier. She and her husband, Hiram May Curry, Jr. owned and operated the local jewelry store until his death in 1972. She managed to keep it going for several years until her daughter convinced her to move closer to her. Mrs. Curry was a member of Missouri Avenue Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Tempie and Bob Drescher,Seminole, FL.; one sister, Anna Bell Bauer, Dunedin, FL.; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Harry T. Reid Funeral Home with Rev. Justin Young officiating. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery.
