Obituary

Lois Margaret Hale Sapp, 87 years young, after a long illness, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus as she slept, leaving her temporary home in Jasper, Florida and entering her everlasting home in Heaven on the morning of July 28, 2023.

Born in Fostoria, Ohio on June 12, 1936 to Park Lamar Hale and Gladys Marie Boday Hale, she was raised in Fostoria and was the youngest of four siblings: Robert Joel, Lucy Ann, Alan Howard and Lois Margaret.

Lois was always a beautiful person in every way. She had a laugh that made everyone laugh with her and a smile and personality that lit up a room when she walked in. Lois was also an avid reader and had an affinity for music. She played the accordion when she was five, the big bass drum in the Fostoria High School Marching Band and later learned to play piano and played for her children's Sunday School classes. Lois met her husband, Herbert Spencer Sapp at a diner in Fostoria, they quickly fell in love and moved to his family home in Jasper, Florida where they were married. After their 1st child was born Lois and Herb relocated to make Cocoa, Florida their home and had four more children within the next nine years. Lois lived in Cocoa 57 years before moving back to Jasper.

Lois's life is a love story...a true love story about her enormous love for God, her children, grandchildren, friends and for all mankind. Lois had a heart of gold as big as the universe and filled with kindness, faithfulness, mercy and forgiveness. She had a beautiful soul and her spirit was overflowing with as much never-failing grace and pure, unconditional and abounding love as God's.

Lois was a selfless woman who loved everyone she met and everyone she met loved her.  She treated all people with dignity, respect and love, always willing to lend a listening ear and give a helpful hand up to anyone who needed it, no matter who they were or where they came from, no matter their race, creed, color or gender she opened her arms and her heart to them. She gave everything...kept nothing for herself. She never met a stranger and made a lasting impact on every one she met.

Lois is the greatest Mother God has ever created, with a fierce love for her children and family like no other. The path she walked was anything but easy but she was a force to be reckoned with and never gave up. Lois was an integral part of raising her five children, mostly by herself, and stayed involved in their lives until the day she breathed her last breath. Lois, our Momma, was the strength of her family and her never ending love was the glue that held us all together. Momma, we love you and cherish you and we will honor you all the days of our lives, until we see you again in Heaven.

Lois is survived by her five children, Debra Marie Pate (Larry), Herbert "Buster" Franklin Sapp, William "Bill" Spencer Sapp (Jessica), Linda Renee McDonald and Tanya Ann Walker; four grandchildren, Troy Pate, Jessica Ayres, Jeremiah Crews and William Cody McArdle (Aryn); two great grandchildren, Tabytha Lynn Pate and Melijyah Farmer; one great grandchild on the way, Baby McArdle; nephew, Kevin Lamar Cook; and other loving family members Jacob Bullard and Denise Holmes.

Lois's family will hold a Celebration of Life for her later, the date is yet to be determined. Arrangements will be handled by Harry T. Reid Funeral Home, Jasper, FL.

Scars in Heaven

by Casting Crowns

If I had only known the last time
Would be the last time
I would have put off all the things I had to do
I would have stayed a little longer
Held on a little tighter
Now what I'd give for one more day with you

'Cause there's a wound here in my heart
where something's missing
and they tell me that it's gonna heal with time
But I know you're in a place
Where all your wounds have been erased
And knowing yours are healed is healing mine

The only scars in Heaven
They won't belong to me and you
There'll be no such thing as broken
And all the old will be made new
And the thought that makes me smile now
Even as the tears fall down
Is that the only scars in Heaven
Are on the hands that hold you now

I know the road you walked was anything but easy
You picked up your share of scars along the way
Oh, but now you're standing in the sun
You've fought your fight and your race is run
The pain is all a million miles away

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah
For the hands that hold you now

There's not a day goes by that I don't see you
You live on in all the better parts of me
Until I'm standing with you in the sun
I'll fight this fight and this race I'll run
Until I finally see what you can see

The only scars in Heaven
They won't belong to me and you
There'll be no such thing as broken
And all the old will be made new
And the thought that makes me smile now
Even as the tears fall down
Is that the only scars in Heaven
Are on the hands that hold you now
