Louis J. Hand, age 72, of Jasper, FL. passed away at Lake City Medical Center on November 18, 2018 following an illness of some time. Louis was the son of the late Henry and Ethel Mason Hand. At a young age he joined the United States Army and served as an active duty soldier for the next 13 years. During that time, he met and married the love of his life, Betty while in Germany. The two of them moved to Jasper, FL. where they made their home. Louis was a member of the John M. Caldwell Masonic Lodge and enjoyed being a mason. Louis also enjoyed being part of the family of the Jasper First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Betty L. Hand; one son, Harold Hand, Milton, FL.; two daughters, Monja Hand Slater (Mark), Lake City, FL. and Jennifer Hand, of Jasper, FL.; one brother, Dennis Hand also of Jasper; six grandchildren, Mathew Robinson, Rita Mae Robinson, Louis Newhard, Kasey Robinson, Cortney Newhard and Ashley Hand.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper, FL. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper.
