Margaret Lucy Cook Stephens, age 66, of Ozark, Alabama passed away at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama on April 28, 2015.
Lucy was born on February 18, 1949 in Houston County, Alabama to Huey and Doris Smith Cook. She was a graduate of Hamilton County High School and worked as a supervisor at Occidental/PCS until the late nineties. She was always a friend that could be depended on and was known as a person that would take the time to help others in need. Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, Huey and Doris Cook and two brothers, Ted Smith and Huey "Buddy" Cook, Jr.
Survivors include one son, Chad Stephens and his wife Dana of Bluffton, South Carolina; two daughters, Dawn Daniels and her husband Greg of Ozark, Alabama and Heather Stephens Creeley and her husband George Jr., of Lulu, Florida; two brothers, Donald "Duck" Smith and his wife Chrissy, of Jacksonville, FL., Paul Cook of Wichita, Kansas, and his long time friend Daniel Wright; two sisters, Diane Hallford and her husband Bobby, and Linda Shelley, all of Ozark, Alabama; two sisters-in-law, Kathleen Smith Peacock and Janice Cook; six grandchildren, Miranda, Zach, Ethan, Michela, Katie and Dawson; numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved with all her heart.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Jasper, FL. Interment followed at Hebron Cemetery.
