Madeline Lee Hansen

With profound sadness and enduring love, we announce the passing of Madeline L. Hansen, who passed away at the age of 65. Madeline was the beloved wife of Daniel Hansen for 46 wonderful years. She was the heart of her family—the steady rock who kept those she loved grounded through life's greatest joys, its most difficult trials, and every milestone along the way.

Madeline was generous to the very end, with a nurturing spirit and a fiercely protective love for her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, caring sister, and cherished aunt whose kindness touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

As the wife of a career Army soldier, Madeline made countless sacrifices in service to our nation. She courageously packed up and moved her family across the country—and even overseas—often on short notice and sometimes while her husband was deployed. Time and again, she built a new home, established a new career, excelled in it, and then willingly left it behind to begin again wherever duty called. Her strength, resilience, and unwavering devotion were the foundation upon which her family stood.

Recently, Madeline became a charter member of the newly established VFW Auxiliary in Jasper, Florida. Eager to continue her lifelong commitment to serving veterans and their families, she answered the call to leadership by accepting the position of Chaplain. Her compassionate heart, steadfast faith, and willingness to serve made her a source of comfort and encouragement to all who knew her.

She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched, all whom she helped, and most especially by those she loved and who loved her in return.

Madeline is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, Danny Hansen; her son, Chris; her daughter, Jen; her sister, Patty, and brother-in-law, Rick; four nephews, one niece, and many great-nephews and great-nieces who brought her immense joy and reminded her daily of life's greatest blessings.

Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Madeline's spirit of love, compassion, strength, and selfless service will live on through her family and everyone fortunate enough to have known her. Her memory will forever be a guiding light, inspiring us to carry forward her passion for life, her unwavering love for family, and her dedication to serving others.

The family will hold a private service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hamilton County Veterans Memorial, c/o VFW Post 8095, in honor of Madeline's lifelong dedication to veterans and their families.
