Margot Alice Brethauer Caroline, age 93, went home to be with the Lord on August 1, 2025, at the Madison Health and Rehabilitation Center in Madison, Florida.

Margot is survived by her children, Patty and Allen Harrell of Jennings, FL; Dr. John Michael Caroline and his wife Cindy; and her daughter-in-law, Angie Caroline. She also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren: Cindy and Dan Meadors; Todd and Becca Caroline, along with their children, Eli, Luke, and Judah of Pensacola, FL; John Curtis and Shannon Caroline, and their daughter Lylah Mae; and Kaitlyn Caroline of Gainesville, FL.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, John Paul Caroline; her son, Donald Caroline; and her parents, Christoph and Herta Brethauer.

Born and raised in Germany during the hardships of World War II, Margot developed a determined and independent spirit that defined much of her life. In 1958, she moved to the United States, and on November 4, 1960, she married the love of her life and started a wonderful life with her beloved John Paul.

Margot loved the simple joys of life — Monday night spaghetti dinners with family, the occasional thrill of a Florida Lotto scratch-off ticket, and most of all, sewing and caring for her beautiful rose garden.

A graveside memorial service honoring Margot's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at West Lake Church of God highway 141 in Jennings, Florida.
