Marsha Rea Scaff, age 74, of Jacksonville, Fl., passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019, following a lengthy illness.
Marsha was born November 24, 1944, in Valdosta, Georgia, the daughter of the late Charles Glenn Scaff and Jewell Southall Scaff. She grew up in Jasper, Fl., and graduated from Jasper High School in 1962, where she played the flute in the concert band and was a majorette in the marching band. After graduation, she attended college briefly before she, her brother and her mother moved to Jacksonville in 1963.
She initially worked for Southern Bell and then Standard Oil. In 1969, she found her dream job with IBM Corporation.
Initially she worked as a secretary, supporting several managers, until eventually she became the secretary to and staff assistant for the branch manager of the Jacksonville office.
Through the years she became the go to person for most everyone in the Jacksonville office. She loved to host and plan events for the local branch, including annual kickoff meetings, quarter century luncheons and family dinners. . In recognition of her service and efforts she was awarded the coveted Mean Service Award for the year on five different occasions. Some called her mother Marsha because she always had their best interest in mind. She was a trust worthy confidant who was widely known, loved and well respected within the company.
When Marsha was not working, she enjoyed cooking and traveling.
Marsha was a caring sister who took care of her brother until his passing in 2008, and a loving daughter who cared for her mother until her passing in 2010.
She is survived by two nephews, Charles G. Scaff, III, (Tripp and Rebecca) and Christopher Scaff, both of Winnabow, N.C., a cousin Robert Tuten (Linda) of Alexandria, Va., a cousin Decar Scaff (Eileen) of Jasper, Fl. and by her long time companion of 48 years, Joseph E. Warren, of Jacksonville, Fl.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at 1:00p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, 6592 NW 48th St. Jennings, FL. 32053.
