Mrs. Martha Edith Anderson Deas, age 84, of Bryson City, North Carolina passed away in the early morning hours of July 13, 2012. Edith was born in Manatee, FL. to the late Marion and Clyde Wilcox Anderson. She was a former resident of Bradenton, FL. and was a retired secretary for the State Insurance Commissioner's Office. She was married for 59 years to the late Otto Deas, Jr. who passed away in 2007.
Survivors include three sons, Roger Deas and Byron Deas, both of Bryson City, NC and Gregory Deas of Myakka City, FL.; one daughter, Karen D. Young, Murfreesboro, TN.; one sister, Susie Henderson, Palmetto, FL.; six grandchildren, Dawn Deas Shuler, Barry Deas, Larissa Cordelle Morris (deceased 2007), Crystal Ivey Molina, Matthew Deas and Brock Young; eleven great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 17, 2012 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper, FL.with Pastor Van Namee officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper.
