Marvin Clayton "M.C." Swindell, age 81, of Alachua, FL. passed away on December 1, 2021 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, FL. following an illness of some time.
M.C. was born in Ludowici, Georgia to the late Marvin and June Boone Swindell. He graduated from Jennings High School and decided on a career in law enforcement. He worked first in Wildwood, FL. for eighteen months before transferring over to Dunellen, FL. He only stayed in Dunellon for six months before being called to Alachua Police Department where he retired after twenty-nine years of faithful service. In his spare time M.C. loved riding horses, fishing and hunting. He was a member of Westside Church of Christ in Newberry.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Roy Ann Mathis Swindell; his only daughter, Deborah Holley and her husband Steve of High Springs, FL.; his three sisters, Sue Arcand (Bob), Gwenette Godbee (Larry) and Annette Szymoniak; three grandchildren, Matthew Kramer, Morgan Kramer and Alex Kramer; two great grandchildren, Mason Kramer and Kaydence Kramer. In addition, he lives behind his fur baby, Rosie.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Oak Grove Church of Christ, 2922 NW 76 th Terrace, Jennings, FL. 32053.
The family will receive friends at the cemetery beginning at 12:30 p.m.
