Mary Lou Cain Ard, age 94, of Jasper, FL. passed away Friday, September 15, 2017 at Suwannee Health Care following an illness of some time.

Graveside services were held on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper, FL.

Mary Lou was born on May 13, 1923 in Enterprise, AL. to the late Walter and Savannah Butts Cain. She was a resident of Alabama and Leonia, FL. In 1947 she married Luther Ard and in 1955 they moved to Jasper and made it their home for life. Mary Lou owned and operated "Mary's" restaurant which was located in downtown Jasper. She retired from the restaurant in 1966 and took on the role of homemaker full time. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband Luther in 1976. She was also preceded by her parents and brothers, Marvin Cain and Alto V. Cain.

Survivors include her three sons and daughters-in-law, James S. Smith and his wife, Margaret, C.L. Smith and his wife, Rhonda, and Joe Ard and his wife, Martha; one daughter and son-in-law, Sue Ard Haddock and her husband, Milton Haddock; five grandchildren, Kim Daniels Busick (Travis), Greg Daniels (Dawn), Robbi Ard Snipes (Keith), Tina Smith Bennett, and Kristi Smith Brown (Hillman); nine great grandchildren, Tory Croft and her fiancé` Bryan Czarniak, Zach Daniels (Hannah), Dawson Daniels, Wil Snipes, Megan Snipes Tran, Cross Bennett, Harrison Brown, Preston Brown and John Maxell Brown; one great great-granddaughter, Lucy Claire Daniels.
