Obituary

Mary Jeanette DeLoach, age 91 passed away on January  4, 2024 peacefully at her home in Statenville, GA with her family by her side. Mrs. DeLoach, known to most as Nanny or Aunt Jennie was born in Waycross, Georgia. Mrs. DeLoach was a homemaker and member of Statenville United Methodist Church. Devoted to her family, she loved visiting her grandchildren and was always sure they had plenty of goodies whether it was ice cream or candy.  While always up for a good time, she enjoyed going to casinos, playing a good game of Yahtzee or cards and working on puzzles. When it was time to relax she always enjoyed a good book or reminiscing the past by looking through her pictures. If you ever needed her on a Thursday it was guaranteed you could find her at the beauty shop getting her hair fixed and set for the week.

Jean is survived by her daughter-in-law, Katy DeLoach; her grandsons, Walt DeLoach and Keith (Ashley) DeLoach; her great grandchildren, Karmen Leigh DeLoach, Holden Michael DeLoach and Karson Hunter DeLoach; and her sisters, JoAnn Godwin, Maxine (Remer) Wetherington and Karen (Pat) Spieldenner. Jean also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.

Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Walter DeLoach; her son, Walter Michael DeLoach; and her parents, Mack and Alice McEvans.

A funeral service to honor Mrs. DeLoach's life will be held graveside at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 8, 2024 at the DeLoach Cemetery at 128 Barney Road, Lake Park, GA 31636 with Bro. Derek Herring officiating.
