Mary G. Kinsey, 92, of Lake Park passed away surrounded by her family at her home Tuesday, June 17, 2014. She was born March 21, 1922 to the late Joseph N. and Huldah Averitt Gay. Mary is also preceded in death by her husband James E. Kinsey and her brother Joseph B. Gay. She is a member of Jennings United Methodist Church, a member of the Jennings United Methodist Women's Association, and she taught the adult Sunday School class for over 20 years. During WWII, she was a Classified Informational Teletype for the United States Naval Intelligence Agency at Jacksonville Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, FL. She was also a clerk typist for the Hamilton County Court.
Survivors include: two daughters, Sandra K. O'Steen and Janice S. Kinsey both of Lake Park, GA.; three grandchildren, Mandi K. Mertens (Steve) of Perry, GA, Tony DiMascio of Orlando, FL, and Dede L. Payne (Ryan) of Unadilla, GA.; two great-grandchildren, Matthew Payne and Kaleb Payne of Unadilla, GA.; three special cousins (sisters) Carolyn, Betty and El; one sister-in-law, Doris; three nieces and three nephews. Also surviving is her dog Candie who never left her side.
A memorial service were held Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Jennings United Methodist Church with Rev. Gordon Vanamee officiating.
