Mattie Lou Newsome King, age 101, of Jasper, FL. passed away Monday, June 17, 2013 at Suwannee Valley Nursing Center in Jasper following an extended illness. Mattie was born in Hamilton County, FL. to David and Mattie Avriett Newsome. She was a homemaker and was a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ. She was predeceased by her husband, Talmadge Randolph King; her son Randy and a daughter Betty.

Survivors include two sons, David King and his wife Dorothy of Jasper and Derryl King and his wife Gayle, also of Jasper; 9 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 21, 2013 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home with Mr. Nick Law officiating. Interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery near Jennings.
