Michael Eugene Lee, age 61, of Jasper, FL. passed away on February 8, 2022 at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. following a lengthy battle with Covid.

Michael was born in Jasper, FL. on August 29, 1960 to the late C.H. and Hazel Pollock Lee. He was a 1978 graduate of Hamilton County High School in Jasper. Michael worked for a number of years at Occidental Chemical Corp. before an accident on the job that left him paralyzed. The adjustment was a long and very difficult road to travel but with the help of his loving and faithful wife Deborah, he was able to rehabilitate to a place that he could accept his limitations and actually live life again. He was never able to leave the wheelchair behind until his homegoing on February the 8th when he gained his angels wings. Michael was married to Deborah (Smith) Lee and following the accident they decided to move to Maggie Valley, N.C. and it was there that they lived until her death in 2007. The family decided to move back to Jasper in 2010. Through it all, Michael maintained his love for Jesus. He was a wonderful father and grandfather and doted on those grandchildren. He was blessed to live to see his Georgia Bulldogs play and win the National Championship as well has his Atlanta Braves win the World Series. In addition to those two teams, he was an avid Atlanta Falcons fan. Michael was preceded by his parents C.H. and Hazel Lee and sisters, Lillie Belle Strickland, Linda Harrell and Marie Lee.

Survivors are his two sons and daughters-in-law, Kyle and Michelle Lee of Cairo, GA. and Brooks and Jamie Lee of Jasper, FL.; his two brothers, Raymond Lee and Wendell Lee (Darlene), all of Lake Park, GA.; his sister, Josephine Bass and her husband Darryl of Statenville, GA.; six grandchildren, Justin Luckette (Katherine), Kayleen Taylor (Colby), Conner Lee, Carrington Lee Hancock (Joshua) Taylor Lee and her fiance, and Logan Lee; four great grandsons, Jacob, Josiah, Jackson and Jared.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Harvest Fellowship Church in Jasper with Pastor Danny Henderson officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Baptist Church near Jennings.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper, FL. between the hours of 5:00-7:00 p.m.
