IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Milton
Wiggins
August 7, 1937 – September 21, 2023
Milton Wiggins of Jasper, FL passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023. Milton was born to James "Jim" Cleo Wiggins and Georgia Lee Thomas in August of 1937 in Ambrose, GA. From there, they moved to Haines City, FL. Growing up there, Milton attended Haines City High and in his senior year decided to join the Navy. Upon doing so, Milton spent his time of service on ships. After his discharge from the Navy, Milton returned to Haines City where he met Shirley Smith. Milton and Shirley married in 1969 and moved to Tampa, FL where he began working as an independent contractor splicing cables for phone companies. Milton was very athletic and loved sports. So much so, he invested a lot of his time coaching his children's football and softball teams and for the Tavern Softball League in Tampa. By the year 2002, Milton and Shirley decided it was time for a quieter life and moved to Jasper, FL. They were members of Calvary Baptist Church in Jasper, FL. Milton continued to stay very active and walked 6 miles each day.
Milton was preceded in death by his daughters: Charlotte Pittman and Marti Wiggins; his brothers: "J.L." John Lynard Wiggins, "Junior" James Cleo Wiggins, Aubrey Wiggins, and Bill Wiggins; and his sister, Jeanette Crosby. Milton is survived by his wife, Shirley Wiggins; his son, Dale Pittman of Jasper, FL; his sister, Ruth Cone (Howard) of Lake Hamilton, FL; his granddaughter, Valerie Pittman; and his great grandson, Carter. He was especially close to the nephews and nieces of the Crosby family in Live Oak, FL, and Whitfield of Interlachen, FL.
No services are being planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Calvary Baptist Church of Jasper, FL or to Haven Hospice in Lake City, FL.
