Mrs. Nell Commander, age 92, of Leesburg, GA. passed away Saturday, January 30, 2010. Mrs. Commander was born in Hamilton County, Florida to the late Edward Walter Buckels and Floie Jackson Buckels. She was a longtime resident of Dawson, Georgia and was a retired seamstress. Mrs. Commander was a member of Bronwood Baptist Church in Bronwood, GA. She was preceded in death by husbands, George H. McLeod and W.B. Commander, two sons and daughter-in-law, George E. McLeod and Laird B. McLeod and his wife Cathy and one sister, Frances Matthews.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Martha McLeod, Leesburg, GA.; two sisters, Annie Lou Driggers and Florence East (Bill), all of Jacksonville, FL.; 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson; many nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper, FL. with Rev. Brian Sanderson officiating.
