Obituary

Orlando E. Leon Jimenez, age 64, of Wellborn, FL. passed away at his home on Thursday, January 28, 2016. Orlando was born in San Turce, Puerto Rico on November 4, 1951. He moved to South Florida from Puerto Rico in 1987. Orlando made his home in Polk County for many years before moving to Suwannee County. He was a data entry specialist for local government for most of his life. He loved music and was a bass guitarist and played a great deal of southern gospel for several organized bands. Did he love baseball? He would have answered yes sir pull up a chair. If you wanted to talk New York Yankees well you could plan on sitting a while. In addition to loving music and the Yankees, he loved his Lord. Orlando was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Suwannee County.

Survivors include his wife Angela Leon; two sons, Javier Leon and Kevin Leon both of Puerto Rico; two brothers, Ed Leon, Live Oak, FL. and Carlos Leon and his wife Dharma of Missouri; one sister, Delia Leon of Utah; numerous nieces and nephews and six precious grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Monday, February 1, 2016 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church (5314 98th Terrace, Live Oak, FL. 32060). Interment followed in the church cemetery.
