Obituary

Orval Brown, born on May 12, 1952, passed away on January 11, 2024. He was a dedicated husband, father, and friend.  Orval retired from PCS Phosphate after 42 years of service. He was not only known for his work ethic but also for his love of the outdoors and spending time with his family.

Orval's passion for the great outdoors was evident in his love for fishing and hunting. Among all his hunting endeavors, he had a special fondness for turkey hunting. He found joy in the wilderness and in teaching his sons all they needed to know to be successful hunters.

One of the most cherished traditions in Orval's life was syrup making with his family. This time-honored practice was a source of happiness and togetherness, as generations gathered to make something sweet and memorable.

Orval is preceded in death by his parents, Henry "Toye" Brown and Mary Brown. He is survived by his loving family, including his devoted wife of 45 years, Peggy; his sons, Jeremy (Brittany) and Ryan (Amber); his brother, Darrayl Brown (Cynthia); and his two beloved granddaughters.

Friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation at Harry T. Reid Funeral Home on Monday, January 15, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Boney Bluff Cemetery.
