Palmer Gene Smith Sr., age 76 died Wednesday (Jan. 27) at his home in Jasper. Mr. Smith was a native and life resident of Jasper and a member of the First Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army and was retired from The Florida Power Corporation and was a farmer.

Survivors include his wife of of 55 years, Addie Mae Smith, two sons, Palmer Gene Smith Jr. Jasper, Charles Arthur "Art", Chicago, IL.; one brother, John Smith(Wanda) Starke, Fl.; one sister, Brenda Hicks (Sammy), Madison, FL.; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
