Pinckney Kirkland Lanier, IV "Pete" age 61, of Jasper, FL. fought a courageous battle with cancer and he gained his wings on August 9, 2021.
Pete was born in Spokane, Washington on May 3, 1960 to the late Pinckney Lanier, III and Marion Boden Lanier. He lived most of his life in Hamilton County, FL. and worked as a long-haul truck driver for over 40 years. Pete had to spend long hours on the road away from his family for many years but when he was home, he loved to spend time with his family. Hunting was always on the list of things to get done while he was home as was riding motorcycles. Given time on Saturday he loved to sit down and watch his beloved Florida State Seminoles and on Sunday he could be found watching Nascar. Pete shared his loved of community by serving faithfully on the Jasper Volunteer Fire Department. Hot or cold, as long as he was able to move, Pete responded to the call. Pete was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Sharon Walters and his grandson Joey Lanier.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Tommie Sue Dunaway Lanier; two sons, Pete Lanier, Jasper, FL. and Tommy Joe Lanier (Brianna) also of Jasper; his daughter, Ginger Thomas (Brandon), Blairsville, GA; two brothers, Mike Lanier, Newnan, GA. and Donnie Lanier, Valdosta, GA.; two sisters, Patricia Dew, Jennings, FL. and Ginny Lanier, Miami, FL.; five grandchildren, Andrew Schultz, Matthew Thomas, Lane Lanier, Madilyn Lanier and Kelli Lanier.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 13, 2021 at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper, FL.

The family will receive friends at Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper, FL. from 10:00 a.m.-10:45 a.m.

In keeping with Covid-19 restrictions during the visitation we ask that you wear a mask while inside the building. Once you have visited with the family, Please make your way on to the cemetery for the service to limit congestion in an effort to maintain social distancing.
