Rachel Madeline Deas Nunn, age 92, Jennings, FL. passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at her home. She was best known as Madeline Deas, daughter of James B. and Carrie Cunningham Deas born April 15, 1923 in Jennings ,FL. until one special day in 1944 when she married the love of her life and became Mrs. James E. Nunn.
James was serving his country in the United States Navy and so they began their journey of traveling wherever the Lord and the service led them. She was happiest when she filled her days sewing and caring for her two sons. Following a lengthy career in the military, the couple returned home to Jennings where they made their home. Madeline was a faithful member at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in Jennings.
Survivors include her husband of 71 years, James E. Nunn, Jennings; two sons, James E. Nunn, Jr. and his wife Bonnie of Cedar Creek, TX and Donald R. Nunn and his wife Benita M. Nunn of Dasher, GA.; one brother, Albert Deas and his wife Mittie, Jennings, FL.; four sisters, Hazel Butler, Lubbock, TX., Ruby Malone, Albany, GA., Betty Scriver and her husband Chuck, Minneapolis, MN., and Patricia McMullen, Dasher, GA.; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 30, 2015 at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in Jennings with Elder Donald Gilbert officiating. Interment followed at Sassers Landing Cemetery near Jennings.
