Robert Gaines Dampier, Jr., age 76, of Jasper, FL. passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Lake City Medical Center in Lake City, FL.

Robert was a devoted Husband, Dad, Poppa and great friend. He was born on May 25, 1945 in Lanier County, Georgia to the late Robert Gaines Dampier and Annie Lou Smith Dampier. Robert always worked hard to provide for his family. He worked as a mechanic and heavy equipment operator for Occidental Chemical Co. (Nutrien) and later for the Hamilton County Road Department. He farmed on the side more as a hobby than anything else. Late in life he discovered Facebook and enjoyed both reading and sharing his "Coffee Time Commentary" with the many friends and family. He dearly loved his three daughters and was so very proud of them. Hunting and fishing were favorite past-times when he was able to be out and about and having "girls" did not deter him from taking them out with him.  In fact, there are some very fond memories built around those hunting and fishing trips. He and his wife Glenda are members at Francis Lake Baptist Church and attended on a regular basis as long as their health permitted.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Glenda Dampier; three daughters, Karen Dampier Williams of Madison, FL., Amanda Dampier Boone of Tifton, GA. and Robin Dampier of Lake City, FL.; seven grandchildren, Lexi, Tiffanie, Austin, Gaines, Jesse, Everett and Miranda; one great granddaughter, Ariah; and "The Hounds" his beloved fur babies.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday beginning at 10:00 a.m.
