Robert A. Mathis, age 59, of Adel, GA. passed away on January 21, 2022 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, GA.

Robert was born in Woodbridge, Virginia to the late Charlie (Sr.) and Dora Leikert Mathis. Robert was employed for many years at Valdosta Commercial Doors where he was a welder. Remembering the best of times, Bobby loved to cook and prepare food for friends and family and was especially known for boston butt which came with its own story. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Charlie Mathis, Jr. and his two sisters, Barbara Mathis and Elisabeth Novakovich.

Survivors include his niece, Christina Fountain, her husband, Richard and their children, Shane, Richie, Hunter & Jaidyn; his stepmother, Winifred Mathis; his two brothers, Floyd Mathis & Johann Mathis; his stepbrother, James Fussell; his stepsisters: Barbara Floyd & Sheila White; close family friend, Joe Futch; numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

A graveside interment was held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper, FL.
