Robert William Wilkinson, IV, age 83, of Jacksonville, FL. passed away at his home on Thursday, September 23, 2021 following a lengthy illness.

Robert was born at St. Lucie General Hospital in Ft. Pierce, FL. on May 15, 1938 to the late Robert and Sarah Hooper Wilkinson. The family moved to Jasper and he attended Jasper High School, became a member of the marching Trojan band and was part of the graduating class of 1956. He married the late Gloria Register Wilkinson. The two eventually moved to Jacksonville for work. Robert was employed over forty years at Distilled Spirits Wholesale. He and his wife lived in Jacksonville, FL. the majority of their working life but enjoyed the slower pace of their second home in Jasper, FL. for many years until it became necessary to move back permanently to Jacksonville to be closer to their doctors and their daughter who became their full-time caretaker. While in Jasper, the two were very active members of the Jasper First United Methodist Church. Robert was predeceased in death by Gloria in January of 2021 and their daughter Patricia Leigh Wilkinson-Payne.

Survivors include his daughter, Julie Ann Wilkinson-Fuchs of Jacksonville, FL.; his brother, Benjamin Hooper Wilkinson, Sr. (Cathy) of Tallahassee, FL.; his grandson, Bryan Andrew Fuchs (Kasey) and three great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews survive with recognition of Elwood Earl Rose "Skipper" (Cindy) with whom Robert shared a very special relationship with.

Per his wishes, Robert was cremated.

Graveside committal services will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery officiated by Troy Ray pastor of Lake Shore Family Fellowship.
