Ronald Joseph Fort, age 81, of Jasper, FL. passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 at his home following an illness of some time.

Memorial services were held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Jasper, Florida.

Ron was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 6, 1935 to the late Joseph Frank Fort and his wife Mary Hon Fort. He grew up in the Cleveland area and following high school he attended Kent State University. Ron was drafted into the United States Army serving his country from 1954-1956 and was deployed to Korea during his service. Upon returning home from service, Ron married the love of his life and the woman that would remain faithfully by his side for the next 59 years, Miss Donna Falor Fort. Ron had an honorable career in law enforcement serving in the Cleveland Police Department and later with the Coral Springs, Florida Police Department. As one would expect, Ron worked hard and received two promotions while working at Coral Springs Police Department. He was promoted to rank of Sergeant first and then later promoted to rank of Lieutenant. Ron earned the respect of his law enforcement family as well as the good people in the communities he served. Following his retirement, he and Donna relocated to Jasper, Florida in 1993 and made it their home.  They soon became active members at First Baptist Church in Jasper, FL. where Ron served as a deacon. He will be remembered fondly by his church family for his faithfulness to others even as his own health declined.

Ronald Joseph Fort knew he was a blessed man. He was a faithful husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Falor Fort; five children, Greg Fort (Kathy), Cleveland Heights, OH., Patti Armfelt (Todd), Middlefield, OH.,  Brian Fort (Susanne), Coconut Creek, FL., Kevin Fort (Cindy), Davis, CA.; and Jeff Fort (Nancy), Dallas, TX.; and ten grandchildren.
