Ronald "Ron" Lester Cubbedge, age 78, of Jasper, FL. passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in Gainesville, FL. following a lengthy illness. Ron was a native of St. Cloud, Florida where he was born to the late Lester and Mary Bennett Cubbedge. He was a longtime resident of the Orlando area and was General Manager at Robert's and Johnson Warehouse for 32 years. After running the hectic race of Orlando lifestyle, Ron decided to make what was a weekend refuge more permanent. He moved in 1998 to Hamilton County where he loved the slower pace and enjoyed building a cabin, woodworking, hunting, boating and fishing.

Survivors include his longtime companion, June Lenher, Jasper; his son, Charles "Buddy" Powers, Jasper, FL.; three daughters, Kelly Hutson of Tennessee, Becky Parrett (Bobby), Orlando, FL. and Rhonda Lolmaugh Mathis, Tallahassee, FL.; he also fathered, Darrel Poplin (Jackie), Terri Berry, and Karen Bono (Chuck), all of Orlando, FL.; one sister, Mary Jo Strosnider of Georgia; 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.




A graveside services was held  Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Sassers Landing Cemetery on CR 150 near Jennings, FL.
