Roosevelt Bennett, age 79, of Lake Park, Georgia passed away Thursday. July 26, 2012 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Georgia. Roosevelt was born in Statenville, Georgia to the late Clifford and Ida Deloach Bennett. He was a retired truck driver on the road for many years. He was a former resident of Maryland, returning to the area in 1977. Mr. Bennett served his country in the United States Marine Corps.

Survivors include his wife, Anne White Bennett, Lake Park, Georgia; five daughters, Brenda Randolph, Amelia Island, FL., Linda Fredrickson (James), Jennings, FL., Vickie Strong, Harrisburg, PA., Melanie Gioia and Tara Bennett, both of Lake Park, Georgia; one brother, Alfred Bennett, Barney, Georgia; two sisters, Jewell Bennett Sapp and Carolyn Gritz, both of Jennings, FL.; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 30, 2012 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper, FL. Interment will follow in Staten Cemetery near Statenville.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 29th between the hours of 4:00-6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
