Rosie Lee Pittman Selph, 82, of Jennings, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025. Born on August 24, 1942, in Jennings to Jay and Bessie Pittman, Rosie was a lifelong resident who devoted her life to family, faith, and hard work.
Rosie retired after more than 25 years as a supervisor at Jasper Textile in Jasper, FL, where her strong work ethic and leadership left a lasting impression. She was a faithful and devoted member of Jennings Assembly of God, where she found strength and fellowship through the years with her church family.
Known for her generous spirit and nurturing heart, Rosie cherished time spent with her family. Whether hosting a holiday meal or simply making sure everyone had a plate to eat, her kitchen was always a place of comfort and love. She was happiest when surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren—each one a source of pride and joy.
She is survived by her son, Dennis Selph (Vonda) of Lake Park, GA; her son-in-law, James Hinton, Sr. of Jasper, FL; her brothers, Jerry Pittman (Ruth) and Jimmy Pittman of Jennings; her sisters, Peggy Crosby of Lake Park, GA, and Carol Harvey (David) of Jasper, FL; her beloved grandchildren, Ginger Leeann Combass (Chris), James Hinton, Jr. (Brandie), Joe Jenkins (Emily), Jordy Selph, Emily Smith (Michael), Corey Selph, and Amber Profetto (Justin); and her great-grandchildren, Jackson, Gavin, Connor, Reed, Carson, Little Joe, Maggie Claire, Mason, and Ivy. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family members as well as two special friends, Mrs. Betty Ward and Mrs. Linda Thomas who will remember her with love.
Rosie was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, George Lee "G.L." Selph; her daughters, Elizabeth Ann Hinton and Sherrie Laverne Brown; and her brothers, Joseph Eugene Pittman and James Pittman, Jr.
A funeral service to honor Rosie's life will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Jennings Assembly of God in Jennings, FL. Interment will follow at Wilkes Cemetery in Adel, GA. The family will receive friends during a viewing on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper.
Rosie will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, the meals she lovingly prepared, and the faith that carried her through life. Her legacy of kindness and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
