Rupert Whitehead Sr., age 75, of Jennings, FL. passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at his home following a lengthy illness. Mr. Whitehead was born on April 29, 1936 to the late Carlos and Lillie Kornegay Whitehead. He served his county in the United States Air Force. Mr. Whitehead retired from Timco Aviation (Aero Corp) in Lake City, FL. He was a longtime resident of Jennings and was a member of Jennings Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Peggie Sauls Whitehead, Jennings; two sons, Rupert "Rudy" Whitehead, Jr. (Kay), Lake Park, GA. and Tracey Allen Whitehead (Misty), Jennings, FL.; three grandchildren, Katie, Tripp and Gabriel; two step grandchildren, Hunter and BayLeigh; three great grandchildren, Brianna, Gavin and Brody; a special niece and nephew, Megan and Rickey Eudy.

Memorial services were held Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Jennings Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Spencer Smith-Corbett officiating.
