Ruth Ann Strickland, age 49, of Echols County, Georgia passed away Monday, July 30, 2012 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Ruth was born February 13, 1963 in Morristown, New Jersey to Henry and Gloria Hahn. She moved to Echols County in 1981 from Arcadia, Florida and was a rural route mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. Ruth was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and will always be remembered for the love she demonstrated to others and her quick wit. She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Hahn.

Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Kerry Strickland, Echols County, GA.; two sons, Ashley and Cody Strickland, both of Valdosta, GA.; her mother, Gloria Hahn, Jasper, FL.; two brothers, Richard Hahn, Echols County and Charles Hahn of Alabama; one sister, Cathy Smith, Englewood, FL.; six grandchildren; her nephews and niece whom she considered her own, Christopher Hahn, Jessica Carter and Johnathan Carter; father-in-law, James Strickland; step father-in-law, Lee Tompkins.

Funeral services were held Friday, August 3, 2012 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home, Jasper, FL. Burial followed at Ruth's Resting Cemetery.
