Obituary

Sally Malpas Sapp, age 84, of Jasper, FL. passed away peacefully at her home in the early morning hours of January 26, 2021.


Sally was the only daughter born to the late Joe and Ann Caldwell Malpas. She came into the world in Lake City, FL. on June 18, 1936. She was joined by brother Kenyon in 1940. The two grew up in Jasper, FL. with lots of cousins to get into trouble with. Following graduation, Sally went to Florida State University before becoming a dental assistant and went to work for her uncle Dr. William Mitchell. She married young Joe Walter Sapp in 1958 and two would remain partners for 61 beautiful years until his death in May of 2019. Sally retired from the office of Supervisor of Elections after a lengthy and successful career. She and husband Joe Walter were longtime members of First Baptist Church in Jasper and both were good and faithful members of the church choir for many years. Sally was preceded in death by her husband Joe Walter, her son Greg and her brother Kenyon.


Survivors include her only daughter, Lynn Sapp of Jasper, FL.; her niece and two nephews and a host of cousins. Special caretakers, Mary Mercer and Julia Baker and faithful friend Kathy Smith.


Memorial services will be held at First Baptist Church in Jasper on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Roger Hutto officiating.

Due to the ongoing Pandemic, CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19 in regards to masks and social distancing are required.
