Obituary

Shirley Roberson, age 76, of Jasper, FL. passed away on April 22, 2019 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, FL. following a brief illness.

Shirley was born in Madison, FL. on April 2, 1943 to the late James Henry and Cora Lee Greene Selph. Shirley always worked, sometimes holding down more than one job at the time which inspired her children and gave them a work ethic to follow. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister and could be found at any time playing board-games, putting together puzzles, playing video games or in the kitchen cooking for the masses. She was very independent and lived on her own until recently when her health began to decline. Shirley was a member of First Baptist Church in Jasper and was an active member as long as her health permitted. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Roberson; her sister, Florence Gornto and brothers, Marvin Selph, Charles Selph and Warren Selph.

Survivors include four daughters, Sebrina Roberson (Dondi) of Rich Creek, VA., Terri Smith (Jimmy) of Crawfordville, FL., April Fernett (Gary) of Jasper, FL. and Melinda Nanstiel (John) of Orlando, FL.; two brothers, Etheridge "Bud" Selph (Jackie) and Durwood Selph (Geraldine); one sister, Mildred Murphy; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Jasper, FL. with Pastor Roger Hutto officiating. Interment followed Burnham Church near Jennings, FL.

Harry T. Reid Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
