Obituary

Pastor/Chaplain Stephen A. Haskell, age 75, of Lake City, FL. passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Lake City Medical Center in Lake City, FL.

Stephen was born in Fairmont, West Virginia on April 11, 1946 to the late John Russell Haskell and Georgia Beatrice Drennon Haskell.  He received his Bachelor in Ministry and Theology from Baptist Bible Institute and believed strongly in his service to the Lord. Chaplain Haskell (retired) was Senior Supervising Chaplain at Hamilton Correctional Institution for 21 years and served as Pastor at Jennings Missionary Baptist Church in Jennings, FL. most recently before retiring due to declining health. Following retirement, he and his wife moved to Daytona and lived briefly before returning to live in Lake City to be closer to family.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Brenda Richey Haskell; three sons, Douglas Alexander Haskell, Johnathan Russell Haskell and Stephen Daniel Haskell; one daughter, Sheila Renda Springs and her husband Andy; three grandchildren, Haley Springs, Freyja Haskell and Falynn Haskell.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 13, 2021 at Jennings Missionary Baptist Church in Jennings, FL. with Chaplain Donald "Chip" Sheetz officiating.

Private interment will follow at a later date.
