Susie Mae Davis, age 71, of Mayday in Echols County, Georgia passed away at the home of her son and daughter-in-law on May 15, 2022 surrounded by her loved ones.
Susie was born in Arcadia, Florida on June 12, 1950 to the late Otis Ammons and Pauline Mayhall Ammons. She worked during her lifetime. Susie was always a hard worker. Her early work history included working as a C.N.A. at a local developmental center and Crestwood Nursing Home in Valdosta, GA. Later she worked for the Knox City Water Department and was a part time columnist for the local newspaper in Knox City, MO. Susie battled cancer the last few years. Susie's favorite past-time was enjoying her TV.
Susie was preceded in death by her parents, a special aunt, Victoria Jerrell, her brother, Allan Red Smith, her sister, Jeane Ammons, her granddaughter, Angel Nevaeh Davis, and her grandson, Brad Weaver. Also preceding her were aunts Lillie Mae Fuller and Marie Lokey.
Survivors include two sons, Tony Martin and his wife Lynnette of Mayday, GA.; Christopher Lee Davis and his wife Jen, Hannibal, Missouri; her daughter, Cynthia Davis (Darrell Goucher) of Kirksville, Missouri; two sisters, Erana Elizabeth Smith and Paula Elvira Smith; four grandchildren, Jeannie Nation (Josh), Summer Davis, Autumn Davis and Harlie Goucher; five great grandchildren, Gage and his wife Carlee, Brailey, Brandon, Jennings and Judson.
Per her request Susie will be cremated. A private memorial service with Pastor Wayne Boykin and family was held at the
time of her death. There will be no formal services.
Harry T. Reid Funeral Home of Jasper, FL. was in charge of immediate arrangements.
