IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sybil Omega
Hinton
September 24, 1933 – January 11, 2022
Sybil Omega Hinton, age 88, of Jasper, FL. passed away in the early morning hours of January 11, 2022 at Orange Park Medical Center.
Sybil was a native and lifelong resident of Hamilton County. She was born on September 24, 1933 to the late Perry and Belle Larkins Strickland. Sybil was born into a large family and they loved each other dearly and depended on one another. She met and married Owen Hinton, Jr. and the two raised three beautiful children together. It would seem that she and her sister Gertie followed each other around in the job field because they both worked as operators for the phone company and for Dr. Wade Norris Dentistry. When she retired, Sybil loved being in the garden and fishing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Hinton, Jr., her daughter, Lorrie Hinton Joeris and all of her brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her two sons, Owen Hinton, III and James Hinton and his wife Ann, all of Jasper, FL.; five grandchildren, Leeann Combass (Chris), James Hinton (Brandie), Westen Joeris, Lizzy Griner (Lance) and Joe Jenkins (Emily); 10 great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper with Dr. Jimmy Deas officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Haven Hospice, 6037 West U.S. 90, Lake City, FL. 32055.
