Sybil Mathis Padgett, age 72, of Jennings, FL. passed away early Thursday morning, Sept. 16, 2010 at Haven Hospice in Lake City, FL. The Hamilton County native was the daughter of the late Roy and Sallie Morgan Mathis. She was a former resident of Jacksonville, FL. where she taught kindergarten and was a school bus driver. Ms. Padgett returned to Hamilton County in 1982. She was a member of Lake Park Church of Christ.

Survivors include one son, Joey Padgett, Jennings, FL.; one daughter, Karen Ernest, Cincinnati, Ohio; Thomas Mathis, Statenville, GA. and Gary Mathis, Jennings, FL.; four sisters, Faye Law and Thelma Law, both of Jennings, FL., Roy Ann Swindell, Alachua, FL. and Evelyn Carter, Valdosta, GA.; two grandsons and one great granddaughter.

Graveside services were held Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Oak Grove Cemetery with Mr. Marvin Greene officiating.
