Thomas Byrd Williams, "Tommy" a beloved lifetime resident of Hamilton County, peacefully passed away on January 16, 2024. He was born on June 28, 1938, to loving parents, James Andrew Williams and Thelma McCall in Jasper, Florida. Tommy, as he was affectionately known, touched the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy of honor and service.
In his youth, Tommy attended Jasper High School and graduated in the class of 1956. He was a passionate athlete who excelled on the football field while in attendance there. After graduation, Tommy continued his education at Florida State University and then joined the military. He became a dedicated veteran who served his country with valor during the Vietnam War. His commitment to duty and his fellow soldiers was unwavering, and his sacrifice will always be remembered.
Following his military service, Tommy returned to his beloved Hamilton County and began working at Occidental in White Springs. After retirement, he continued his life in the place he loved to call home.
Tommy is survived by his daughter, Sherri Hamilton, his brother, James Williams, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service to honor the life of Tommy Williams will be held at Harry T. Reid Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 23rd, at 2 p.m.
