IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas
Daniels
August 23, 1946 – January 7, 2026
Thomas "Tommy" Daniels of White Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully at the Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center on January 7, 2026, after a brief illness, with his daughter Cindy (his pride and joy) holding his hands as he entered the gates of Heaven.
Born on August 23, 1946, in Jasper, Florida, Tommy was the son of the late Eli and Annie Mae Abbott Daniels. He attended school in Jasper and graduated from Jasper High School in 1964. Later that same year, at a skating rink in Adel, Georgia, he met a new skating partner. On July 24, 1965, Tommy married the love of his life, Dianne Wright Daniels, and together they shared 60 years of marriage.
During his early adult life, Tommy worked for Evans Products of Jasper for several years. He then managed the Suwannee Store in Jasper, working alongside his father, Eli, for many years. He went on to make a career with the Jasper Post Office, working as a mail carrier for over 30 years. At various times, he carried each of the four mail routes and could tell you everyone’s address from memory. Everyone would tell you he was the “best mailman they ever had.” Tommy was kind and very much a caretaker; he helped his store customers, looked out for the people on his mail routes, and lovingly cared for his parents and family.
He loved his family fiercely and was incredibly proud of all of them. His favorite title was “Papa,” first to his beautiful granddaughters whom he adored, and then to his only great-granddaughter, Morgan, who brought intense love and joy to both him and Dianne. She was the sunshine of their days.
Tommy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Jasper and a 43-year member of the John M. Caldwell Masonic Lodge of Jasper.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eli and Annie Mae Daniels, and his brothers, Eli Daniels Jr. and Mallory Reid Daniels.
Tommy is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Dianne Wright Daniels; his daughter, Cindy (Kevin) Morgan of White Springs; granddaughters, Rachel (Justin) Garland of White Springs and Mallory (Evan) Schnitker of Tallahassee; his great-granddaughter, Morgan Raye Garland of White Springs. Tommy is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, including Kim Daniels, Greg Daniels, and Erica Daniels McCullough; and special friends and neighbors, Terry and Cathy Erixton.
