Mr. Thomas P. Moffses Sr. 76, passed away on February 5, 2018 in Madison, FL. Tom was born February 9, 1941 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Dr. Garabed Herbert Moffses and Elizabeth Moffses (Griffin).
Tom was of the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church. He was a graduate of Frankford High School (Philadelphia, PA) and The University of Florida. He was a Block and Bridle member and an avid Gator fan.
After college he was employed by Harrisville Corporation (Eleuthera, Bahamas), Bahama Poultry (Freeport, Bahamas), International Systems and Controls (Managua, Nicaragua), Strain Poultry (Madison, Florida), the first City Manager of Greenville, Florida, General Manager of Relief Printing, and two terms as City Manager of Madison, Florida. He was a member of the Lions Club where he served as President, Vice-President, and District Governor.
Tom was preceded in death by his father Dr. Garabed Herbert Moffses, his mother Elizabeth Moffses (Griffin), and granddaughter Caroline Mary Moffses.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Mary Tucker Moffses; children Thomas Phillip Moffses Jr. (Tammy); Timothy Preston Moffses; Todd Prescott Moffses (Jaime); siblings Beth Ann Padgett; Barbara June Gift; Shirley A. Derr; 5 Grandchildren Tyler Phillip, Catherine Maria, Taylor James, Tucker James, Juliana Lynn.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church with Father Dominic Tran officiating. Interment services will follow immediately afterwards in Ebenezer Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Burns Funeral Home of Madison. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Madison. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church Villa Maria Social Hall fund 186 NW Sumter Street Madison, Florida 32340.
