Thomas "Tom" Jerome Murphy, Jr., age 74, of Jennings, FL. passed from this life to the next in the early morning hours on Wednesday, August 23, 2017.


Memorial services were held on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper, FL.

Tom was a native of Cleveland, Ohio born June 20, 1943 to the late Thomas and Dolores Best Murphy Sr. He worked in telecommunications as an engineer with Bell South for over 30 years. Tom was preceded in death by his soulmate of 38 years, Anita Courson Murphy and a daughter, Tina Simpson Dixon.

Survivors include three sons, Robert Simpson (Tracy), Steven Murphy (Lynn) and Thomas Murphy, III (Jennifer); two daughters, Kristina Cantwell (Bryan) and Constance Beene (Ralph); two brothers, Michael Murphy and David Murphy; two sisters, Susan Kuczine and Elisabeth Murphy; eleven grandchildren, Nathan, Katie, Calvin, Heather, Matthew, Nicholas, Haley, Cameron, Conor, Brooke and Kyle; four great grandchildren, Caden, Nathan, Margrit Katherine and Jerdan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Marine Corps Toys for Tots (address to be posted at a later time).
