Thomas Michael Storie, 77, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. Born on August 25, 1947, in Gouverneur, New York, Thomas was the beloved son of John and Ella Storie.
A dedicated engineer and Navy veteran, Thomas lived a life of service, passion, and adventure. He served four years in the Vietnam War aboard the USS Shangri-La, an experience that shaped his life with courage and purpose. After his military service, Thomas spent 19 years working for Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, NY. During his time there, he pursued his education at Brockport State University, earning his degree and laying the foundation for a remarkable career. He transferred to a position as a Laser Energetics Engineer at the University of Rochester's Laser Energetics Lab, where he absolutely loved his job. There, he found great fulfillment in his work, blending innovation and creativity to make meaningful contributions in his field.
When not working, Thomas enjoyed spending some time fishing and hunting and riding his motorcycle, always finding peace in the outdoors and the simple pleasures of life. After retiring, Thomas and his wife, Carolyn, relocated to Jennings, Florida, in 2013, where they embraced a quieter life.
Above all else, Thomas cherished his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Carolyn Storie, of Jennings, FL; his three children: Sara Bedette (Michael) of North Carolina, John Storie (Valerie) of Holley, NY, and Sandra Pedemonte (David) of Holley, NY; his brother, Wayne Storie (Betty) of Canandaigua, NY; seven grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren, each of whom he adored deeply.
Thomas's legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his family will be cherished forever. Thomas's family will honor his life privately, cherishing the many memories they shared with him.
