Obituary
Tommy Lane Hart, age 73, of Jasper, FL. passed away Monday, November 3, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. Tommy was born in Cook County, Georgia February 28, 1941 to the late Ivey and Agnes Hart. He grew up working hard on farms in Hamilton County with his brothers and sisters back in a time when working was not an option but a necessity. He met and married the love of his life, Imogene Murphy and started their young family. Tommy was the motor pool supervisor at Hamilton Correctional Institution for fourteen years, but it was farming that was in his blood. He was blessed with children and grandchildren willing to jump in and get their hands dirty helping with his many projects. During this last year, as his health failed him, Tommy enjoyed sharing his wisdom of tinkering with this or that, farming with or just loving on his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Tommy would have shared the thought that a bad day on the farm was better than a good day anywhere else.
Survivors include his beautiful wife of 54 years, Imogene Murphy Hart; two daughters, Cindy Hart Burnett and her husband Craig and Sandy Hart Nichols, all of Jasper, FL.; brothers and sisters, Howard, Arden, Don, Ronald, Wayne, Mattie Lou, Dorothy and Mollie; four grandchildren, Colby (Karae), Jared (Jessi), Ciera and Cory; two great grandchildren, Kerrigan and Logan. Preceding him in death was his young son, Steve Douglas Hart.
Funeral services were held Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Corinth Baptist Church near Jasper with Pastor Gary Abbott officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
