Obituary

Tommy Joe Robinson, age 69, of Jasper, FL. passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016 at his home following an illness of some time. Tommy Joe was a native and lifelong resident of Hamilton County born January 1, 1947 to the late Kirby and Gussie Amerson Robinson. He was a hard worker and would take on any project that would keep his family fed and clothed. Tommy Joe worked in construction, he was a good mechanic but many know him most recently as having been employed by the Hamilton County Road Department. In his free time he loved to hunt and fish. Tommy Joe was a member of Bright Pond Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Joey Robinson, a brother, Kirby Jr. and sisters, Betty Jean Land and Nellie Wentworth.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Wanda Robinson; two sons, Roy Robinson, Lake City, FL. and Ray McGovern, Valdosta, GA.; one daughter, Mandy McGovern, Douglas, GA.; five sisters, Myrtle Smith (Billy) and Angie Padgett (Bobby) both of Jasper, FL., Jan Hunter (Hugh) White Springs, FL., Janice Smith (Tom) Jasper, FL. and Brenda Thompson (Jerry) Sylvania, GA.; 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Wanda would like to acknowledge all of the prayers, visits and assistance with Tommy Joe from his family and friends.

Wanda would also like to acknowledge that without the help of his daughter Mandy and granddaughter Cindi she could not have made it through these last few difficult weeks of hospitalization and home care.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 8, 2016 at Bright Pond Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Smith officiating. Interment followed at Hebron Cemetery.
