Velma Ann Fender Walker, age 72, of Lake Park, GA. passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, GA.

Velma was born in Echols County on September 27, 1946 to the late Clifford and Dorothy Fender. She was a woman that valued her family. She loved being a homemaker and being able to be there for her children when they needed her most. Velma was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Connie Fender and the father of her children, Leroy Walker.

Survivors include her three sons, Joey Walker (Stephanie), Bobby Walker (Ronda) and Donnie Walker; her two daughters, Shirley Young (Rickey) and Tonda Hammack (Scotty); two brothers, Rabon Fender and Alton Fender (Brenda); two sisters, Oma Strickland and Peggy Commander; 19 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Monday, October 29, 2018 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home in Jasper, FL. Interment followed at Carter Cemetery in Echols County.
